As an out-of-state contractor with a tight schedule and fully functioning site it allows for very little time to pick the right contractors for the work to be done. However, after several phone conversations and in-person meetings with CR Woods General Contractors, we chose them as the best fit for our project as they were able to handle the full excavation and concrete package that we needed. Typically we would hire just a grading contractor and a concrete contractor but they committed to us that they could handle the complete package, which included mass grading, underground storm lines and conduit trenching as well as sitework concrete, foundations, retaining walls and flatwork. Both their field foreman and their front office were very communicative during this time-sensitive project. They met or exceeded each phase of the project schedule as we had to break it up into several different slices due to the logistics of the building being in full operation during this work. In the winter of 2024, CR Woods really stepped up to supply matting on two major transmission line projects in the Oregon Coastal Range. At the last minute, the subcontractor that we had selected for the project backed out, so we called CR Woods and they delivered "Big Time". Due to weather unknowns, the exact placement of matting in certain areas required flexibility to remain on schedule, so there were times we provided only a short notice, and yet the CR Woods team always delivered. Because of their professionalism, focus on safety, and flexibility, we used CR Woods on both projects, and they are now our primary matting supplier in the Pacific Northwest.
